Background Story & Main Focus

Slogan: I want to read you a story, my little friends.

Background Story:

I remember that when I was a young boy, my late father Mr. Oei Kim Leng ( OKL ) purchased for me an English Language Children Book titled Robinson Crusoe. That fueled an early fascination with books and literature. English was not my first language, it was not my second language. I decided to study the language well. It led me to come to America for my studies up to graduate level.

I want a similar opportunity for children around the world to be exposed to Children Books. They may help changing the trajectories of their lives for the better.

Main Focus

The Eyes of The Children of The World

My friends, what do you see in those eyes,
the eyes of the Children of the World?
Do you see Beauty in all the shapes, colors and forms?
Do you see Innocence
Brimming with Joy
Bubbling with Hope
And Burning with Excitement?
Do you see a sparkle of Divinity
Mysteriously reflecting the Image of God?

What do those eyes of the children of the World see?
Do they see a set of open arms ready to hug them?
Do they see a bright room with toys and stuffed animals,
With a stack of Children Books
that their parents read to them time and again?
Do they see their favourite food on the table, along with the juices?
Do they see a strong hand of a father
who takes them safely across the streets?
And a soft hand of a mother who rubs their back until they fall asleep?
Do they see the sunset over the horizon on a family trip?

At the same time in another corner of this same world,
My friends, what do you see
In the eyes of the Children of the World?
Do you see Innocence Lost, Anger, Despair and Desperation?
Do you see Fear, Tears of Sorrow and Agony?
Do you see the Fire of Tenacity and Resilience?
Is it possible to even see a flash of Evil?

What do those eyes see?
Do they see the leftover pag pag food in a broken bowl?
Do they see half a bucket of water,
Drawn from a well a few miles away?
Do they see a dirt floor in the solo room in a hut?
Do they see the pile of garbage,
where some come for their daily treasure hunting?
Do they see the bruises in the faces of their mothers
And the tears in their eyes?
Do they see the soiled and rumpled shirt of their fathers
lying drunk or drug crazed?
Do they see the oversized jewelry of a madam pimp
Recruiting potential victims of Human Trafficking?

Could we close our eyes
and rather see with our inner eyes of the souls?
Could we see a kingdom
Where the rich share their assets of Excess,
Where the poor share their hearts of Gratitude?
Where the parents fulfill their responsibilities
And the children reach their God given potentials?
Could we see Energies are directed towards worthy goals,
Each succeeding generation improve its lot,
And the Earth shines forth the Glory of God?

What do you see?
